Welcome to The Dyslexia Tutor website!
Rhonda is a Certified Dyslexia Tutor at the advanced level. She uses the Orton-Gillingham (O-G) based system (Barton Reading and Spelling) in her tutoring program. An O-G program provides the best remediation possible for dyslexic children and adults. To receive such specific training Rhonda has attended specific postgraduate training programs given by Susan Barton, International Specialist in Dyslexia and Wall of Fame member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) through the University of San Diego.
The Barton System, an Orton-Gillingham based program for teaching dyslexic and other reading challenged children, uses the only method proven to improve the function of the neuropathways responsible for the correct processing of language.
Dyslexic children need systematic, explicit, and intensive instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension strategies. Please watch the following 'call to action' for a new approach to teaching those with dyslexia.
Rhonda provides dyslexic children and their families with a local Dyslexia resource and tutor here in the city of Victoria.
